Defects report

Inspections are carried out where concern are raised by either the owner or the contractor dealing with individual item or on a holistic view of the contracted works, reports are carried out as a preliminary or detailed to be acceptable for the tribunal or court proceedings.

In this situation the building consultant compiles a report that would identify the items and comply with the requirements the expert witness code of conduct. In general this report would include the defect, the cause or reason why it is considered to be a defect, who was responsible, methods or rectification and costs to rectify.

At all-time in this situation WBC may be asked to be an experts in the Tribunal or Court, so it is imperative that the facts or assumptions are clear and determined.

Defects reports may also be carried out on old buildings in need of repair which will require a scope of works to supply for the tendering of the works.
